Does HoneyBoost Help Libido? What the Maca and Tongkat Ali Research Shows
Does HoneyBoost help libido? No study tests the gummy, so nobody can say. A maca trial found better self-rated desire at 1,500 and 3,000 mg for 8 weeks, but one gummy holds 10 mg of maca extract, equal to 100 mg of root. Tongkat ali research measured testosterone, not desire.

The short answer01
Does HoneyBoost help libido?
There is no evidence either way for the gummy itself. No trial has tested HoneyBoost, so any promise about desire would be a guess.
The label uses words such as "Bigger Drive. Harder. Longer." and "Performance Support." We quote them because they are the seller's words. We do not repeat them as claims, and no source backs them for this product.
What exists is research on single ingredients at their own doses. Two of them, maca and tongkat ali, have the most human data among the seven label lines. We read both and compared the doses.
Maca02
What did maca studies find about sexual desire?
One 12-week trial in healthy men found better self-rated desire from week 8 at 1,500 mg and 3,000 mg of maca, with no change in testosterone (Gonzales 2002, Maca and Sexual Desire).
That is the strongest line for the label. It is also a different product. The trial used gelatinized maca root powder in gram amounts. HoneyBoost lists 10 mg of a 10:1 extract, which the label equates to 100 mg of root.
A second trial in 50 men with mild ED gave 2,400 mg of dry extract for 12 weeks. IIEF-5 scores rose 1.6 points with maca and 0.5 with placebo (Zenico 2009, Maca in Mild ED). A systematic review of four randomized trials called the evidence limited and the trials too small for firm conclusions.
The arithmetic is short: 100 mg of root is 6.7% of 1,500 mg. The extract dose, 10 mg, is 0.4% of 2,400 mg.
Tongkat ali03
Does tongkat ali raise sex drive?
The research we cite measured testosterone, not desire, and it used far more extract than one gummy holds.
A meta-analysis of five randomized trials found higher total testosterone with Eurycoma longifolia, and its authors said more research is required (Leisegang 2022, Eurycoma and Testosterone Meta-analysis). A 6-month trial gave 200 mg a day to 45 men with diagnosed androgen deficiency and found better erectile function with training plus the herb. It could not isolate the herb alone (Leitao 2021, Tongkat Ali RCT in Aging Males (Maturitas)).
The gummy has 25 mg of extract, which is 12.5% of that trial dose. None of these sources set out to measure desire in healthy men.
| Label line | Printed per gummy | Amount in the study | Outcome measured |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maca extract 10:1 | 10 mg | 1,500 and 3,000 mg powder; 2,400 mg extract | Self-rated desire; IIEF-5 |
| Tongkat ali extract 100:1 | 25 mg | 200 mg extract a day | Testosterone; IIEF-5 with training |
| Damiana extract 5:1 | 10 mg | No dose in any source | No human data for men |

What else can lower sex drive?
Many things, and most of them are not fixed by a supplement.
Mayo Clinic ties erection and desire problems to stress, depression, anxiety, poor sleep and certain prescription medicines (Mayo Clinic, ED Symptoms and Causes). Low testosterone can play a part, but it is confirmed with morning blood tests, not guessed from symptoms.

- Ask for a checkup if desire has dropped for weeks.

FAQ05
HoneyBoost questions people ask
How long does maca take to improve desire?
In the 12-week trial we cite, self-rated desire improved from week 8 at 1,500 mg or 3,000 mg of maca. That is a different product and dose from a 10 mg extract gummy, and no study times HoneyBoost.
Does maca change testosterone?
Not in the trial or the review we cite. The trial found no testosterone difference from placebo, and Memorial Sloan Kettering says maca does not change testosterone in men. Maca may interfere with testosterone lab tests.
Is damiana an aphrodisiac?
Traditionally, yes. Memorial Sloan Kettering says animal studies show effects on sexual behavior but there are no human data. HoneyBoost lists 10 mg of damiana extract per gummy.
What labs check low desire?
A clinician may order two morning total testosterone tests and check for other causes such as thyroid, blood sugar and medicines. A supplement label cannot tell you your level.
Can HoneyBoost make desire worse?
No source says so, and none tests the gummy. Each gummy has 3 g of added sugar, and the label warns people with a medical condition to consult a physician. Report any problem to your clinician.
