What Is a Tongkat Ali Dosage, and How Does 25 mg Compare?
A tongkat ali dosage in the sources we read is 100 to 400 mg of root extract a day, and one 6-month trial used 200 mg. One HoneyBoost gummy prints 25 mg of a 100:1 extract, which is 12.5% of that trial dose. No source tested HoneyBoost, so the gummy's amount is a label fact, not a study result.

Study doses01
What tongkat ali dosage do studies and references use?
The sources we read put the traditional tongkat ali dosage at 100 to 400 mg of extract a day. The NIH LiverTox entry states that range, and it notes that online capsules often sell 1,000 to 1,600 mg (LiverTox, Tongkat Ali).
One 6-month trial gave 200 mg of Eurycoma longifolia (tongkat ali) daily. It enrolled 45 men with androgen deficiency, and the herb was paired with training in one arm (Leitao 2021, Tongkat Ali RCT in Aging Males (Maturitas)). The authors say the design cannot isolate the herb alone.
That is the whole dose picture we can verify. There is no agreed dose for healthy men, and no source we read sets a safe upper limit.
| Source | Amount | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| LiverTox, traditional use | 100 to 400 mg a day | Reference range, not a trial |
| 6-month trial, 45 men | 200 mg a day | Eurycoma with and without training |
| Online capsules (LiverTox) | 1,000 to 1,600 mg | Market amounts, not advice |
The label02
How does 25 mg of a 100:1 extract compare with those doses?
One HoneyBoost gummy prints 25 mg of tongkat ali root extract at 100:1, which is 12.5% of the 200 mg trial dose. Against the 100 to 400 mg range, it is 25% down to 6.25%.
The label also says the 25 mg equals 2,500 mg of root. That figure counts the root the extract was made from. It is not 2,500 mg of active material, and the studies we read measured extract, not root.
A 100:1 ratio is a manufacturing claim: 100 parts of root for 1 part of extract. The label does not say what the extract is standardized to, so two 100:1 extracts can differ.
The arithmetic: 25 / 200 = 12.5%. 25 / 400 = 6.25%. 25 / 100 = 25%. Per gummy, one gummy a day.
Per serving03
Does one gummy equal a study dose of tongkat ali?
No. A single gummy holds a fraction of the studied daily amount, and the label does not claim otherwise.
The label prints no directions line. It sets the serving at 1 gummy. Ask the order desk what the seller advises, and do not invent a schedule.
It may be tempting to eat extra gummies to reach 200 mg. That would take eight gummies, with 24 g of added sugar and eight times the zinc. We do not suggest it. The label gives no support for it.
| Gummies | Tongkat ali extract | Added sugar | Zinc |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 (the printed serving) | 25 mg | 3 g | 2.5 mg |
| 4 | 100 mg | 12 g | 10 mg |
| 8 | 200 mg | 24 g | 20 mg |

Is there a safe tongkat ali dosage?
No source we read names a proven safe dose. LiverTox rates tongkat ali a possible rare cause of clinically apparent liver injury, score D, based on isolated reports (LiverTox, Tongkat Ali).
Those reports were largely in young male body builders. LiverTox lists no drug interactions on that page.
So the honest answer is that dose and safety are both unsettled. A smaller amount is not proof of safety, and a larger one is not proof of harm.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every product you take, including tongkat ali. Keep taking prescribed medicine as directed. Yellow skin or eyes, dark urine or belly pain need prompt care.
The label warns: "Do not take if pregnant, lactating, suffering from a medical condition or taking other medications. Consult a physician before using this product." Read the side effects guide for the full list of flags.
Reading labels05
How do you compare tongkat ali products fairly?
Compare the printed milligrams of extract, the ratio and the standardization, not the root equivalent. Those three lines tell you what is in a serving.
HoneyBoost prints the amount and the ratio. It does not name a standardization for tongkat ali, and no lab report is published. Read how we weigh those gaps in the tongkat ali page, and see what small trials measured.
No source tested HoneyBoost itself. Ask a clinician about erection problems, because they can signal heart or hormone issues (Mayo Clinic, ED Symptoms and Causes).
FAQ06
Tongkat ali dosage questions
How many mg of tongkat ali should a man take?
No source we read sets a dose for healthy men. LiverTox gives 100 to 400 mg of extract a day as the traditional range, and one trial used 200 mg. Ask your doctor or pharmacist before choosing any amount.
Is 25 mg of tongkat ali enough?
It is 12.5% of the 200 mg trial dose, so it is below what that trial used. Whether any amount matters for you is not shown by a source that tested the gummy. The label makes no dose claim.
What does 2,500 mg root equivalent mean for tongkat ali?
It means the 25 mg of extract was made from about 2,500 mg of root at 100:1. It is not 2,500 mg of active compound. Studies dose the extract, so compare 25 mg, not 2,500 mg.
Does a higher tongkat ali dose work better?
We found no source showing that. Online capsules sell 1,000 to 1,600 mg, far above the 100 to 400 mg reference range, and LiverTox reports rare liver injury cases. More is not shown to be better or safer.
Can you take tongkat ali every day?
The 6-month trial gave 200 mg daily, but it was small and cannot stand for everyone. The HoneyBoost label prints no directions. Ask your clinician whether a daily herbal product fits your health and medicines.
